Safeguarding and Licenses

Safeguarding is at the forefront of what we do.

All our Instructors hold DBS certificates and have safeguarding training. Our systems and procedures are set so that confidential data is deleted as soon as the expedition is completed.

We hold licenses from AALA and the DofE. In keeping with best practice we regularly review our risk management systems and processes.

FAQs

What are your not for profit aims?
We work with charities and other organisations on programmes to assist those who ordinarily would not be able to experience the great outdoors. If you know a charity or organisation that you think would benefit from working with us, please let us know.
Do you supply Assessors as well as Instructors?
Yes, all our Instructors are qualified to assess DofE expeditions.
What is included in your expedition packages?
Tents, Trangia gas stoves, maps, compasses and a whole lot of experience.
What training do you provide?
We provide bespoke pre-expedition training at schools on areas such as route planning and navigation, appropriate kit, medical procedures and food ideas.
What about SEND and participants with medical needs?
As a not for profit organisation we aim to increase access to the great outdoors for all. We welcome conversations with schools about this area.
What about travel to and from the expedition?
We work with schools to plan the expeditions around their travel needs. For Bronze expeditions we look to work local to the school and either arrange a drop off point or a point accessible by local transport. For Silver and Gold we plan routes accessible by train to reduce our environmental footprint and encourage independence.
